Regina
Regina's Official Community Plan is a provincially mandated comprehensive policy framework that "guides the physical, environmental, economic, social, and cultural development of the municipality or any part of the municipality." The current OCP was developed over 25 years ago. In order to reflect the new needs and aspirations of the citizens of Regina and new best practices in city building, the OCP is being reviewed and renewed through a comprehensive and participatory process with the public, city staff, and councilors. Current challenges include the fact that the city has to improve its abilities to make decisions promoting a sustainable pattern of growth and coordinate the sequencing of public improvements to strengthen the relationships between housing, employment and other uses. Ken Greenberg served as an advisor to Dialog whichundertook this renewal of the OCP for the City.
