Vision Plan and Policy Framework for Washington D.C.

Washington D.C.

Ken Greenberg was selected with Beyer Blinder Belle to develop a Vision Plan and Policy Framework for Washington D.C. in close collaboration with the D.C. Office of Planning and a number of municipal and federal agencies and key stakeholder groups, and with strong public input. Presented to a public gathering of over 3000 residents at the District's Convention Center, The Vision Plan will provide direction for a major rewriting of the District's Comprehensive Plan and set the course for a number of key strategic initiatives, including the objective of adding a substantial new residential population to the City's neighborhoods. The overall goal of the Vision is to address current imbalances and create an Inclusionary City with three underlying themes - restoring health to all of the City's neighborhoods, access to Education and Employment and Connecting the City. The resulting "District of Columbia: Vision for Growing an Inclusive City" received the APA/NCAC (American Planning Association, National Capital Area Chapter) Award for Outstanding Work.
