Trafalgar Corridor Secondary Plan - Milton, ON
Milton
Ken Greenberg has been engaged as part of a multi-disciplinary team including the Stantec Places Group by the York Trafalgar Development Group to work with the Town of Milton and the Halton Region to develop a Secondary Plan for a 9km stretch of the Trafalgar Corridor. This strategic site has the potential for a true mixed use community spine which achieves the population and employment targets for the Town and the Region, critical to the success of the Region of Halton’s strategy for a next generation of balanced and sustainable development including a balance of jobs and residents well served by higher order transit with the potential for a new GO Station and other amenities thereby reducing traffic congestion and contributing to targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This section of the Trafalgar Corridor is one of the last remaining undeveloped ‘super blocks” in the GTA, and that these lands have the highest concentration of under-utilized, unproductive public sector capital investment in the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The goal is to align this significant economic opportunity with the impressive array of natural resources and quality-of-life attributes in the area to provide a full range of housing opportunities in a complete community setting with solid new business enterprises.
