Lake Street
Twin Cities, Minnesota
In 1996 an initiative led by 4 Minneapolis neighborhoods – Powderhorn Park, Corcoran, Central and Phillips, their elected officials and the Lake Street Council was launched for the revitalization of Lake Street a major east-west artery south of downtown with great inherent potential but with many troubled areas, vacancies and disconnects. Ken Greenberg, then a Partner in Berridge Lewinberg Dark Gabor, was engaged as a member of the Lake Street Bridge Team to develop a vision and intervention strategy for this critical corridor. The creative and entrepreneurial approach adopted focused on overcoming barriers and catalytic activities at key nodes building on existing assets that would stimulate private investment paired with neighborhood goal
